Tennessee Board of Physical Therapy Rule Changes Effective 12/29/2025

Tennessee Board of Physical Therapy Rule Changes Effective 12/29/2025 – Updated

The new Rules Governing the Practice of Physical Therapy for the state of Tennessee were officially released on 12/29/25.  These Rules take the place of all previous versions of the Rules; however, due to a clerical error during the final transcription of the new Rules, some of the changes written and approved by the Board of PT were not included.  The attached file describes in detail the changes that were approved but not included, with links and references to the 12-29-25 Rules edition.

This clerical error will necessitate future corrections of these areas and the re-release of a corrected version of the Rules sometime later this year.  When a corrected version of the Rules is released, licensees will see all approved changes intended for the new Rules.  Until the release of the corrected version of the Rules, however, licensees are obligated to follow the December 2025 Rules as written.

APTATN pledges to keep licensees abreast of the release of the corrected Rules and will be happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding the current Rules. PLEASE SEE THE FAQs POSTED ON THE APTA TN website for more information.
