EARLY PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Mentorship Program

Program Purpose: 

  • Assure PTA and PT student confidence and success during their transition from the academic arena to the professional community by providing eight months of consistent support from the APTA-TN Chapter membership via a non-judgmental, engaged mentorship for the development of therapist introspection, employment/professional skills, and clinical application.

Mentee Benefits: An APTA-TN mentor provides entry level physical therapy professional with

  • A resource for challenging clinical situations in post-graduation situations
  • A source of encouragement and empathy in the initial stages of the professional career to build self-assurance and confidence.
  • Hone professional/leadership abilities for advancement in career and professional growth

Mentee Selection

  • Spots limited to number of mentors available (Mentors will be APTA-TN members)
  • Individual application
  • Requirements:

Mentorship in the beginning of a PT or PTA student’s career can help  mold and shape our professional organization for the better.

Mentorship is one of the most effective volunteering experiences you can  do for our profession.
